These things are light, have good mobility, and have kept my hands protected using 1H weapons. The plastic on the fingers is fairly thin and light so would not use these with 2H weapons like longsword unless you really trust your skill to protect your hands. They fit into all saber and rapiers I've tried as well as all bucklers I've tried.
