Hi All,

Those of you who know us, and are following us here on this page. Maybe you have noticed that we are getting a bit more numerous each year. It is of cause lovely to expand so much. The union is living off of its members. But with growing pains comes difficulties. Some need bigger shoes and some a larger belt. For unions it is more about equipment, space and administrative problems. Ullr's Hird is no exception - and we are working hard to better the conditions for our members in any way. One of the things we get back to each year is our wasters. So far we have been making these ourselves out of wood, glue, linen etc. They are expensive, take way too long to produce and break too easily. As we are getting a bit more planet shaped, we have had a hard time producing enough of our them. In Ullr´s Hird we have a principle, that all our old members take the new ones under their wing and use the same kind of wasters as they do. Therefore we are required to build up supply and replace with new ones each year. For quite some time we have had a dream about finding an alternative to our self produced wasters - LARP weapons does not suffice for obvious reasons, and we have therefore chosen to go for a different kind of waster.
We have had dialogue with a lot manufactorers. Our criteria for purchase was of cause that the price was kept at a minimum without affecting quality, that the product was uniform and that they were able to produce an axe which were 80 cm long.
We got a great deal at Purpleheart Armoury. They helped us by making a special production of their axes. They have been very patient througout the whole process, and the service has been superb at all times. We are very excitet to test them out - and should you be in our vicinity within the next few weeks, you are more than welcome to come and test them out yourselves. A more in depth review of them will come in the future Years and Peace.

Just what I'd hoped for
I bought three of these trainers to practice forms and light sparring with my wife and daughter. They feel great in the hand and have a good choppiness to swinging that mimics my steel viking swords. All three were nice and straight, no deformations. Very satisfied!

Good one handed sword with comfortable grip
I got the Viking sword because I wanted to train with a single handed sword. The sword feels different than a long sword because its center of gravity is more towards the middle, which I dont know if its authentic to a true Viking sword, but its something to be aware of with this sword. The quality of the sword itself for a plastic synthetic is excellent although I would not leave it out in the su
