This series of staves are made with 2 layers of impact grade hickory laminated together to form a strong, straight and defect free staff. This is the best wood possible for martial arts use. The hickory is strong, yet it is flexible to not be brittle when struck against other equipment. We hand oil at least 2 coat of a boiled linseed/mineral spirits mixture.

Heavy Hitter
Mine weighs 34 ounces, hits like a baseball bat. Nice smooth finish on superb hickory, the octagon shape provides a good grip.

1.5" Octagon Hanbo, it's wonderful!!
It's exactly as I wanted it to be, tough, bright octagon hanbo, with the 2 edges neatly filed out and all facet corners sharp but not cutting, without any options for splinters.As high quality as I could hope for.

Walking Hanbo
I was contacted via email pertaining to some customization I had requested. When I received my Hanbo, everything was as I requested. I now have a very solid walking stick to use as an aid, exercise, and self-defense.
