Very sturdy, heavy for longer weapons than pollaxe |

I wanted this for my Helgi Polymer Trainer Rancona’s haft, but now I think I understand why this is intended for use with pollaxe-length weapons rather than longer ones.
I don’t know how heavy roundels should be or if they were used on long polearms historically, but the sheer weight of this disc is enough to feel when wielding one, and it does reduce your ability to adjust your grip for certain techniques (such as shortening your reach for close opponents) by blocking your hands from sliding all the way to the end.
My bigger issue is that the disc only comes in black, whereas the Rancona head and Lance Coronel look mismatched with it as they are silver.
That being said, while the disc is removable from the shaft, I won’t be doing that: I still prefer to have hand protection. But I’d give it five stars for use with pollaxes or hammers (like it’s intended).
