With our “Tournament” parrying daggers we would like to open new ways in HEMA. We wanted a dagger which can be used not only as a defense tool but also on the offensive side. But how can we make it safe for tournament usage? To achieve the desired result we had to test numerous steels and alloys. With our new materials we were able to design a blade which is highly flexible but does not suffer permanent deformation even on heavy thrusts. Hopefully we can see new tournament rule-sets arise influenced by our daggers.

Nice sail dagger!
I'd been looking for a parrying dagger that was good quality, good looking and with a good price. This Regenyei piece looked perfect, but was out of stock. I clicked on the 'notify me when back in stock' button, but didn't expect anything soon. However, in just a few weeks, I got an email saying it was now available and promptly placed the order. I could have picked a custom Regenyei dagger, but chose not to due to impatience. So I bit the bullet and bought this one because it was in stock. It is pretty good, and I definitely have to thank the Purpleheart staff for installing a safety tip for free. The balance is interesting with the sail guard, and has excellent flex.

Regenyei Dagger is a WIN
I fight in SCA rapier. This dagger is near-perfect. It has enough heft that it isn't brushed aside so easily. This bkade is legal in SCA rapier and therefore legal everywhere. The design has that gorgeous plain aesthetic regenyei is known for, and the price is unbeatable. I recommend this dagger to everyone I know because of price and functionality.
