High Guard Gloves Version D

I didn't know if XXL gloves would fit my XXXL hands; they don't. They are too small for my son's XXL hands, too. Just getting them on was hard. My wife was the 3rd person to try to put them on, and she noticed that the seam on the right pointer finger was broken, exposing the white liner. I had planned on using these gloves for loaners for all the new members of the club if they didn't fit, but since they are already coming apart at the seams, I'm going to return them. I don't know if this is a one of or a problem with other gloves, since I only tried on one. By reading other reviews, I'm guessing I just got unlucky with the quality control on the one I got. My suggestion would be to order one size up, and I'm waiting on Purpleheart to contact me for the next step. Hopefully, it will include a full refund.

Upgraded from a set of rapier gloves to these for my Saber training. The protection is excellent. Took several previously-painful hits with no issue at all. They're a little bulky and stiff right out the box but they break in pretty nicely while still protectin all the vulnerable points of the hand. The cuff very slightly limits outside wrist mobility but not in any way I would consider impactful.

These are a fantastic medium/heavy fencing glove. They’re comfortable to wear and allow for a good level of dexterity of the fingers for sidesword.
