Light broad and hollow ground blade for messer fencing. Basic model with a historically accurate PoB and still meeting safety standards. Thick (6 mm!) blade allows for practicing and sparring with other heavier weapons.

Several people in my club have the Ensifer basic messer. We use them frequently and enjoy them immensely. Even at the slightly higher pricepoint, the Ensifer still seems like an incredible value. It is very high quality with extremely tight tolerances (they ring like a bell off each other). They really are a delight to use. It’s my favorite “sword” that I’ve had the pleasure of using, and I recommend them to just about anyone who’ll listen—in fact I think my enthusiasm for the Ensifer inspired a few other purchases in my club. They’re a little precious to get as loaners, but otherwise 10/10.
