These knee pads offer excellent coverage for HEMA fencing. They are made of hard plastic on the outside with a protective padding on the inside. Straps above and below the knee allow a snug fit so that they do not slide as you walk, and it has a hinging feature so that it can bend with you from one stance to another.

I received a lot of help from the PH staff in selecting my gear. As a shorter person, it was definitely a good idea to get separate knees and shin guards. So far these can bee great. There is a little slipping but I think I'm going to add a tie point to my SPES pants once they arrive to address that. The flex and mobility feel good.

As the title says, this product is solid especially for beginners!It articulates well with lunges, and can take a direct hit quite well!
