No taper and will not flex on the thrust. Designed to be an inexpensive trainer with incredible strength.

Modeled after this sword in the Royal Armouries.

Trainer for Seidler's Sabre

Alongside the British light cavalry sword, the Model 1811 was used by Prussian hussars, dragoons, uhlans, horse artillery and by the militia cavalry Landwehr who had been raised in 1813 to fight against the French. The only type of Prussian cavalry not to make use of the Model 1811, or its British counterpart, were the kuirassiers, who retained their straight-bladed and brass-hilted pallasch.

Sturdy, affordable training sword
I picked up two of these swords for a HEMA group I joined and they've been great - they're nicely shaped, the binding feels solid, and they've been holding up fairly well after a few weeks. Well worth the price.

Its simple, light, durable, and the right shape to let have some curvy-sword fun doing solo drills, pell work, and a bit of ever-so-light sparring. All in all, its been an inexpensive way to get a feel for a cu

Got these almost a year ago
Received these in Florida and then had them sent to me abroad. Arrived in perfect condition, as well as the little book. Solid pair of sabers that'll make you feel the impact for sure, monsters on the swing, dangerous if you're not careful. They do eat your palms though, gonna build calluses : D. Great value for its price, since it's all one big flexible piece it's almost impossible to destroy. Wo

Solid
Solid trainers but did arrive bent and had to get creative with a heat gun to straighten them out. Other than that they're pretty good for learning on.
