Looks great, feels good but too much give July 13, 2019

This sword looks really nice and overall is a good quality item that feels good in hand. The wrap is done well and the pommel adds a good balance. However, for me the blade has too much give. This helps from a safety standpoint as a thrust is absorbed by the bending of the blade. But in a bind vs a previous generation Pentti I find that this iteration is at a large disadvantage because of the give. Any move that would require you to rotate out of an edge on edge contact to an edge on flat contact as part of the move does not end well if the opponent applies any level of pressure on the flat of the blade. In any situation where you try to stay strong the blade will bend more easily than the previous generation Pentti.

The look and feel are great. Tip is widened to be safer in the thrust, good presence in the bind. Very happy with purchase.
