5 of 5 Ensifer Kron Longsword Regular Length December 6, 2022

The Kron is as maneuverable as the Ensifer light, but seems to bind like the heavy.  I have found that switching to the shorter blade has made a positive difference.  Don’t get me wrong, in sparing the loss in length is noticeable, but in training the Kron has helped with my execution especially in the wrestle.  The notches on the pommel provide great feedback when not using heavy gloves to make subtle grip changes easier.  One thing to be aware of is that on the Pell, if one does not have good edge alignment the Kron will experience some vibration that transfers to the hands.   This is probably to do with the blade having more flex in comparison to the older models.  I personally love this feature.  As always, the Purpleheart provided excellent customer service and has proven they are the go-to for HEMA gear.

5 of 5 Robust Shorty Longsword June 16, 2021

I chose the Ensifer Kron because it's the shorter blade length but has all of the benefits of their longer (standard length) sword.

It has a slightly heavier feel in the hands, making it's presence in the bind, cut, and riposte strong but mobile. It rewards proper mechanics and reacts quickly. I love the shapes and proportions of the Ensifer's unique blade profile (i think it will hold up better over time because the edges are thicker and rounded, and it has a wide fuller to keep the weight and stiffness down), shovel shilt, quillions, waisted grip, and faceted pommel.

The grip with the waxed cord is slightly slick, I will probably have a leather wrap put on it eventually. The grip is just long enough for me to have both hands comfortably on the handle and the pommel just behind my offhand with sparring gloves mittens on.

Overall, I am very pleased with how this sword handles in/out of gear, in drills as well as sparring.  I think it will serve me well for many years.

5 of 5 Great Sword April 20, 2021

Just received my Ensifer Kron, and it is an amazing sword. Moves great in the hands, even with Spes heavies on, and the shape of the handle helps to maintain a proper edge alignment. With a thicker edge, it still feels lighter and swings faster. After being on the receiving end of this blade, I definitely had to get one for myself. The guys at purpleheart also did an amazing job with the cord wrap. Beautiful sword, overall very pleased with my purchase.

5 of 5 Outstanding blade March 24, 2021
Reviewer: Derek Gill from Irvine, CA United States
I was using the the Ensifer long before this as a comparison and have found this feder to be a great change.  There are some growing pains with getting used to a shorter blade, but my strikes are solid and I can definitely feel the blade moves more quickly and nimbly.  The weight and balance are good and the handle has enough space for my large hands.  The handle also has a nice, wide grip which facilitates great edge alignment.  Some of the Sigi owners in my group are considering buying this feder after having tried it out.
