I chose the Ensifer Kron because it's the shorter blade length but has all of the benefits of their longer (standard length) sword.
It has a slightly heavier feel in the hands, making it's presence in the bind, cut, and riposte strong but mobile. It rewards proper mechanics and reacts quickly. I love the shapes and proportions of the Ensifer's unique blade profile (i think it will hold up better over time because the edges are thicker and rounded, and it has a wide fuller to keep the weight and stiffness down), shovel shilt, quillions, waisted grip, and faceted pommel.
The grip with the waxed cord is slightly slick, I will probably have a leather wrap put on it eventually. The grip is just long enough for me to have both hands comfortably on the handle and the pommel just behind my offhand with sparring gloves mittens on.
Overall, I am very pleased with how this sword handles in/out of gear, in drills as well as sparring. I think it will serve me well for many years.
