Katana, Sparring Steel, Strong Flex

Bought a pair of these in May of 2022 for our sword club and we have been using them just about every other weekend since then. Highly durable, well built and will stand up to heavy sparring. Just need a saya to be perfect!

This version of their katana is heads above the previous version which I also own. It is definitely more flexible making it safer for training and light sparring. It handles very well and generates "sword wind" easily. It looks and sounds great.

A couple of us from Boston have been playing with these for light drilling. I would, however, recommend that you opt for the new higher-flex version that's being developed if you're looking to do full contact sparring with anyone. There's hardly any flex in the blade, which ends up being pretty dangerous given the weight of the blade - both in the cut and thrust. We've had a couple of incidents with people wearing tournament-grade longsword gear receiving fractures to the wrist or dented (read: broken) helmets. It's an excellent model for a historical blade, just not safe for full contact.

Passes in Midrealm. And oh boy is it a blast to use.
