The Women’s Cadet 800N is based on the men’s version, redesigned to better fit the female silhouette. We developed this model with the idea that it would serve as a core piece — often the first 800N jacket in the collection of any HEMA practitioner.
Thanks to its versatility, it works well for beginners, advanced fencers, and instructors alike. It’s also a great option as standard equipment for clubs and training halls.
The Cadet 800N stands out with its distinctive design compared to other HEMA jackets. It features a buttoned closure and a clean exterior without visible quilting lines. The black fabric is complemented by red accents: cuff trim, blade catcher, and tapes along the Canadian buttons. A waist adjustment strap is placed at the back.
This jacket is made from an 800N composite fabric. It features a double closure system: a zipper and elastic Canadian buttons. The elbows are equipped with dedicated straps for attaching additional covers, such as Shell elbow guards. Inside the jacket, you’ll find pockets with foam padding (on the shoulders and torso), which can be freely modified.
The Cadet 800N offers excellent durability while remaining comfortable and relatively lightweight (for an 800N jacket), ensuring freedom of movement during HEMA training. The cuffs include slits for easier dressing.
Since this jacket was primarily designed with beginners in mind, we opted for a simple cut inspired by lower-rank military uniforms. For this reason, we chose 800N fabric, which is available only in black. However, with custom options you can change the colors of trims and stitching, and add PRO straps. Think of it this way — it may be black, but elegance and beauty lie in simplicity.
