Standard Rapier, Regenyei Armoury, Right Handed

Owned for 1 year. This blade has flaws but I spar 2-3 nights a week with this and I will continue to do so. For the price I haven't found anything that beats it that isn't overly heavy. There are other rapiers I've handled that were more expensive and I'd still choose this one. First, the rapier blade has taken a minor set almost immediately. It sometimes gets worse, but bend it back to make 3-5 degrees off true. Second, a the guard is more open than I expected it to be exposing my fingers to thrust strikes. It's at least once a sparing night that the tip of a rapier will end up locked in the guard with my fingers between it. Third, the handle is longer than any other rapier I've handled, almost twice as long as some. Certain wrist movements aren't quite as smooth or require some modification. Finally, the version I have with the ball pommel is peened on. This means that it will never come off, but it also means that it will never come off.

The sword is much lighter than expected but doesn't compromise blade flexibility or balance. The handle feels good and the corners are well rounded. My only change would pull the swooped bar in a little closer for safety, but that's minor
