I recently purchased thr SPES Jacket Pro plates for upper arms. I LOVE HEMA, and we work hard at Iron Crown here in Spokane. Being a disabled Vet with too many issues, my docs were okay with me larticipating, so long as I protected myself. These plates filled in some of the gaps the jackets leave out. Unlike the rest of my school, I prefer a more medieval look to my kit, and so I use the Kaftan Jacket from Purpleheart as sell. These plates look great and feel great, and offer a great amount of movement and protection.
I spray painted them steel color so they had a more "authentic" steel look, and used electrical tape to make one of the shoulder plates look like a Heraldic shield. I think these options from Purpleheart would be awesome, offering the plates in a steel or Grey dye color with options for heraldic crests. That would push this past a 5 star item into "best item possible for what you are looking for" category.
