Custom order was absolutely worth the wait June 22, 2023 Reviewer: Anonymous Person   This jacket was a huge upgrade from my oversized,  hand-me-down SPES Heavy 350N jacket. It perfectly matched the custom measurements I submitted with my order, and I'm much more comfortable and flexible in my fights as a result. Love it March 1, 2023 Reviewer: Alex V from Virginia   Perfect compromise between mobility and protection for regular, intense sparring. Foam protects the full front. Forearm and elbow protection is still necessary with this jacket, and there is unfortunately no padding/hard protection toward the back of the jacket or pockets to accommodate extra padding in those areas, but in no way detracts from the utility of this jacket. A Great Jacket for Versatility August 8, 2022 Reviewer: Jack Foster   I decided to buy this jacket based on two intertwined criteria. I needed a jacket that was light enough for summer outdoor sparring, but protective enough to not compromise my safety if I was to do something like spear or halberd sparring. This jacket fullfilled this criteria for the most part. The padding of the jacket is lighter than I expected (I did not heed the online reviews). I don’t feel confident taking a hard thrust from a polearm to my stomach in this jacket. I suggest, if you buy this jacket, to replace the padding or wear a chest protector before you use weapons bigger than a longsword (using extra protection for lighter weapons is not a bad idea, though). Beyond that, the jacket is good for how light it is. Don’t be disillusioned, you will feel hard shots in this jacket if the weapon is a single sword or bigger. Despite that, I think this jacket is worth it for its breathability outside and maneuverability. Was this review helpful to you?

Best Overall Jacket. July 31, 2022 Reviewer: Michael Waggoner from Bellevue, NE United States   This is the best overall jacket I have used yet. I have used it for club and tournament sparring. The protection is spot on and I like that I can change out the foam inserts in the jacket. The jacket is still hot regardless, the air flow is better than previous AP jackets but the inserts still make the jacket hot. I got the arming points on mine when I ordered. Good First Impressions! April 14, 2022 Reviewer: Edward P. from Nova Scotia, Canada   This is the first protective jacket I have purchased for HEMA.  It is moderately heavy, comparable to a winter coat I have that is rated for -40 degree Celsius weather.  I can move in it well enough, with very little hindrance except when crossing my arms for window guard on the right (I am right handed).  Fabric seems stiff and strong.  Warm to wear, but no more than expected.  No padding over collarbone but once an appropriate mask is put on the collarbone either falls under the mask or under the bib of the mask, and the thick fabric of coat and bib provide reasonable protection, especially when combined with a gorget.  This was ordered shortly after Christmas and arrived mid-April, reasonable production and shipping time for a custom order of this type.  Fits excellently.
