This is a very good and detailed book about a lot of historical swords that were on display. I don't necessarily buy into some of the  Speculation about sword designed, however the drawings  Heavy creations are without equal

I frequently hear that this is a must-have book for the sword enthusiast, I’ve been looking for quite a while, and finally found a copy at Purpleheart Armoury. This one is a paperback, but that works for me. Truly, there is very little in this book that you cannot find SOMEWHERE online, but that is  true of almost any book. But this book is one that I have not tired of simply picking up and browsing when the opportunity occurs. If you like listening to Peter Johnsson, then you’ll like this book.

5 of 5 The sword, form and thought November 8, 2021
Reviewer: Andre from Richfield, MN United States
Excellent book. Thought provoking study of swords, and a beautifully illustrated fairly comprehensive (but not totally complete) catalog of the sword collection in the Deutsches Klingenmuseum at Solingen. Not cheap, but not terribly expensive for what it is. Worth every penny. Essential for all those interested in, especially, medieval and early modern European swords.

5 of 5 Great Book September 7, 2016
Reviewer: Hamish from Glenbrook, NSW Australia
An excellent source for sword enthusiasts and swordsmiths. Get it whilst you can.
Interesting theories about balance and harmonics of sword design. Great photo's, drawings and dimensions.
My only criticism is  I would have liked to see more information about the distal taper of the swords, including dimensions. Nonetheless an awesome addition to your library.
