I picked these out because the blade profile is closer to the old style of 19th century butterfly knives. Very pleased, my 2 year old daughter always wants to sword fight now.

Although I've never encountered a Bowie Dagger with these dimensions, the dimensions are spot on for a liuyeshuangdao 柳��刀 the cousin of the southern butterfly swords. I have been searching for something more robust and durable for lively weapon sparring than the cheap polypropelyne sparring daggers with D-guards that broke in one or two session of rugged usage. Using these as a pair of sabers they have already outlasted the previous items and have more suitable dimensions.I only regret that these appear to be sold out...

Great multi-use trainer
This trainer is perfect for a large D-guard Bowie style but also serves as an excellent short cutlass/hanger trainer as well! Well suited for drilling and sparring! Definitely going to pick up more!

Personal swordfighting. They're great!
As someone who bought these to play swordfight with my partner, i would defintely recommend. Both cost efficient and very sturdy. Its lasted several weeks of rigorous use with only a few scratch marks accrewed. Do make sure to get a spare rubber band if you have pets that like to chew.

Very good affordable training dagger!
Very affordable trainer! I've personally been using this as an indoor saber trainer for the sake of my poor ceiling fan, and it's been fantastic. I imagine it's just as good for indoor bowie training :)
