Standard for a reason November 21, 2016

This is a standard jacket for a reason. It is well built with consideration for hema in all ways. I enjoy this jacket and would suggest it to others.

SPES Axel Jacket V2.0 November 7, 2016
Reviewer: S. Mass from Brighton, MA United States
SPES Axel Jacket V2.0 is, as far as I know, second only to the new SPES Axel PRO (4.0).

You trade integrated arm protection and a leather overplastron for a savings of about $200. Its easy to add these features separately for less than that, so anyone interested in HEMA should consider this jacket.

Keep in mind, the blade catcher can't really do its job without a gorget, so pick up some kind of throat protection.

HEMA is the new black October 28, 2016

This is my second, the first one, a size smaller, is getting "snug". Good protection, good mobility, and a well known HEMA community name. The jacket lifts quite a bit when lifting your arms overhead, so the sleeves could be revised to lift less (even none), but it's a solid four-star item.

odd fit September 29, 2016
Reviewer: Nathan Bryant from Louisville, KY United States
It's a good jacket overall but has a few annoying aspects. One is the seam in the arms is stiff and leaves irritating marks on my arms. Another, which may be my fault for ordering the wrong size, is the shoulders. The rest of the jacket fits well but the shoulders run much too narrow and press hard against mine.

Jacket is in perfect shape, fits like a glove; I haven't used it in training yet as it has been sweltering hot here, but I look forward to it!
