Great Quality for an entry level HEMA Jacket July 7, 2017
Reviewer: Harold Vance from Fairfax, VT United States
The AP is still fairly the standard of quality for Longsword and other historical fencing.  The improvements I will be looking for in a future jacket are only more breathability, and less shoulder-movement restriction (though this tends to ease up as the jacket is broken in).

Quick and easy service June 30, 2017

Getting into HEMA required a lot of gear, all of which I've gotten through Purple Heart and will continue to do so.
Service has been quick and easy with most items arriving in less than a week's time.

Quality jacket! June 27, 2017
Reviewer: Edward Reyes from Laguna Hills, CA United States
The jacket has a very sturdy feel to it. Thick enough padding to dissipate blows from thin or whippy blades, slashes or cuts. I am a size exactly between med and large so I did not work for me. I'd have to order a custom size. The only draw back I can think of is the jacket needing some ventilation. Not a problem depending on where you choose to train.

Superior. June 6, 2017

After a brief break-in period, this jacket has proven its worth.  It is a substantial piece of protective equipment, but it does not curtail movement to the degree you might expect.  I have been hit hard with a mittlehau more than once wearing this, and   it absorbed the force nicely.  It is serviceable, durable, and a good value as well, given its ability to help avoid injury.

This the second Axle style jacket I have purchased and this one is for my daughter. She tried mine on and another that was cutting for a woman and she like the look and movement of this one. Couldn't be happier.
