I got injured last summer while wearing my HEMA gear, for which I got hit between the knee and shin because my pads were separate pieces and I was using cheap Walmart biking pads.  It then prompted me to learn a valuable lesson about the necessity of having real leg protection, and that's where these Purpleheart guards come in.  I've done a lot of longsword and sword & buckler sparring with steels, and these guards saved my flesh & bones every time.

They're a good quality and sturdy, but the fit is a little narrow.  The length was perfect, but if you're a little wider at the bottom, you might struggle.  I'll have to add different straps for comfort, but they'll do for now.
