3 of 5 Mediocre handle, stiff. July 11, 2021
Reviewer: Matthew from Oakton
The seam where the leather is glued/stitched together on the grip is a fairly uncomfortable hot spot, and the pommel cap is misaligned with the grip so that it sticks out towards my hand. The latter issue isn't a big deal, and the former issue is somewhat fixable, but both are to be noted. The hilt is glued to the tang, so keep this in mind before trying modification. In addition, it's a VERY stiff weapon, flexing at 38 lbs rather than the advertised 20 lbs. The one I have appears to be a new variation/revision, which is unfullered.
On the other hand, it handling is a dream, with weight and balance being exactly as listed: 830g and 4 inch POB for this revision. No sparring yet, but the edges are wide, which makes for a presumably durable blade and is less dangerous for the receiving end. Given that this is essentially the base level saber for anyone in the US, it's good for the price at ~$250, but has obvious improvements.

Fast service, good quality training swords.  Purpleheart Armoury will likely be my main source for HEMA equipment.
