Because this is a righteously rugged yet smooth handling trainer that won't quit until your opponent is deftly vanquished!  Thanks Purpleheart for this fun, value-worthy waster!

4 of 5 Nimble and strong. August 5, 2020

The Messer is a great sword for one handed combat, but you can easily get two hands on it if need when blocking a powerful strike at you. It offers flexibility in how you use it. I was worried about the durability for a little bit but was worried over nothing as it is a strong weapon. It is a great trainer and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to learn basic sword form or wanting to focus on one handed swords.

Quick Shipping, affordable price for a decent beginning training piece. Not expecting much but it serves it's purpose.

4 of 5 Surprisingly Good April 1, 2020
Reviewer: Drew Lackovic from North East, PA United States
I bought this as a second synthetic to my Pentii Messer.  I'm left handed, and needed a right handed messer as well.  So I bought this one as a right handed messer, only to find out that it can be easily converted to left or right handed via a split ring.  That's really cool.

The overall feel is pretty good.  It feels a little lighter than the pentii messer, and is thinner and maybe the tiniest bit more flexible, but neither is super flexible to start with.  I do like the feel of the grip on this one more than the Pentii;  I find that the pentii's grip makes my hand tired after using it for a while, and I haven't seen that with this one yet.

The only downside with this one is the nagel design.   it won't allow you to catch a blade, but rather force them to skate off.

Overall, if you're going to get a synthetic messer, I'd recommend this one over the Pentii just for the ability to switch between right and left handed.
