My copy I have read thru, so its on a little sale.

For centuries the Irish have been associated with a stick weapon called the Shillelagh. And for generations of Irishmen, the Shillelagh was a badge of honor - a symbol of their courage, their martial prowess and their willingness to fight for their rights.

The "Shillelagh: The Irish Fighting Stick" is a good book for anyone interested in how the shillelagh takes its place within traditional (mostly Celtic) martial arts.  The book has copious quotations from primary sources.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a history of Irish weapons and military attitudes with major emphasis on the 16-19th centuries and the shillelagh: the Irish fighting stick.
