5 of 5 I use this for Miao dao June 21, 2023
Reviewer: Jonathan Shelton from Charlottesville, VA United States
Great product. Could us a little lightening in the blade for the Chinese application. Drill a few holes and you’ll be ok. Best wishes to all reading this. Keep the old world alive in your studies.

3 of 5 Okay but room for improvement January 22, 2022
Reviewer: William Bomar
I have two, 1 for myself (5'11"/180cm) & 1 for my (female 5'7"/152cm) sparring partner
Overall:
Right up front-I like these synthetic nodachi
As has been said, they are heavy in the blade--just like most synthetics
It is a good synthetic and I am considering more for future endeavors
Pros:
Long nodachi; could be called short o-dachi. Though not perfect for either, these work pretty well
The wraps are great. But maybe a darker blue?
Cons:
Long for nodachi and if you are looking strictly for Japanese longsword, these are a bit long
The tsuba is too small, only the size of a standard katana tsuba. Diameter should be 1" greater
-Handle
Too flexible & poorly weighted
Too narrow, even for the smaller hands of my partner. If it was less bendy, that might be less of an issue
It bends and twists under use, both during sparring and solo drills
This makes it difficult to grip in gloves for sparring and awkward to use even performing drills bare handed

4 of 5 Decent Sparring Nodachi June 8, 2021
Reviewer: Cody Watkins from ,
The balance is a bit off, and strong or fast swings cause the sword to handle awkwardly. Overall it is a good trainer and decent for sparring, but it requires some disposition to properly wield.

5 of 5 Cool Sword June 7, 2021
Reviewer: Erik
I don’t practice Japanese weapon arts, but I wanted to try training with this weapon. It’s awesome. It changes the dynamic of training to have a sword this long. It’s really fun to train with and is quite sturdy for a training sword of its length. It doesn’t have a flop or whip-like motion the way a Jian does. It also looks great standing it up in the room with other weapons.

5 of 5 beautiful quality April 20, 2021
Reviewer: Jerry from Maple Valley, WA
Of the small collection of practice swords that I'm collecting this one has to be of the highest quality. The blade itself is sturdy with minimal flex for the length. The nylon wrapped handle compares to that of a professionally crafted sword. And the cross cards construction to keep it in place is one I have to give high marks in creativity.
