Love this sword. It's my first waster, and I have to say it's not disappointing. Came quickly to my house, and was exactly what was promised. Purple Heart has a great thing going on!

5 of 5 sword February 13, 2018

My son was thrilled when this sword arrived!  A new chapter has just started in this area.  He is 16 and for him to show this much interest and promise is wonderful.  He was a football star till major concussions took him out of the game.  Now his interest is peaked again.  He has shown this sword to all his friends and hopefully this new club will generate a lot of interest. He is thinking of competitions in the future.  Thank you for your quality product.  We couldn't be happier as the beginners we are.

5 of 5 Great Product, Better Customer Service January 3, 2018
Reviewer: Tyler Gray from Birmingham, AL United States
I can't say enough good about this product. It is exactly what I hoped it would be, and is an incredible option to train with, while maintaining historical authenticity. As good as this product is, the customer service is even better. I have loved doing business with this company, and intend to exclusively use them for anything HEMA I can in the future.

5 of 5 Durable and highly effective August 29, 2012
Reviewer: Daniel Muir from Middle Cove, NL, Canada
If you want to get into learning longsword fighting, whether it's German or Italian, you need some sort of relatively cheap training weapon, something that can be bashed against a pell or a tree trunk or another waster over and over again and last for years of punishing abuse. This is your weapon. These swords are made from hickory, and are so dense they will sink in water. I can't say enough about their durability. Mine have absorbed continuous abuse of all kinds for eight months now and are completely unblemished.

They are slightly blade-heavy, in order to build up strength over time while swinging, but are more than well balanced enough for a beginner to learn principles. Their rigidity is ideal for learning how to feel your opponent's intentions through the pressure of blade contact. While they're too hard to be used safely without protection in free-play (you want a federschwert for that) for controlled training you can't get anything better.

Buy a pair, you won't regret it.
