5 of 5 Barely (Tournament) Legal September 28, 2022
Reviewer: Christopher Wolf-Willoughby from New Braunfels, TX United States
This is a great intermediate weapon between longsword and greatsword. It's heavy enough to practice Iberian montante techniques, but just light enough to effectively perform German longsword as well without over exerting yourself. It's not anywhere near as nimble as my Albion Meyer, but it hits like a brick. It's a bit stiff in the thrust but that's the trade off for the extra bonk. The parrying lugs are an exceptional feature and the main reason it's my new favorite two hander.

The length, weight, and lugs may prevent tournament use, so be mindful of requirements if you plan to use it for that.

5 of 5 Wonderful Sword, Absolutely Marvelous November 10, 2021
Reviewer: John from Belmont, NC United States
Very nice sword, came exactly as advertised. I haven't had any issues with it at all. This sword was my first steel trainer and I must say I absolutely love the thing. As others have pointed out it's incredibly sturdy and quite hefty, and as a result will hit quite hard in sparring, but as long as you exercise caution and pad up It you will be absolutely fine. 10/10 would 100% recommend!

5 of 5 Absolute steal for the price January 9, 2020
Reviewer: Ryan from Texas
This thing is absolutely stellar for a 330$ sword, it’s slightly smaller than most extant spadone (only by about 3 inches) But the long grip and properly shaped blade and guard make it an absolutely beautiful tool for learning Marozzo’s two handed sword.  Its easy to transition to a half sword grip underneath the lugs, and it flows exceptionally through the various assalti and plays of various warsword treatises.

When every other training grade warsword is twice the price of this thing, it’s an impossible to beat deal for a sword that handles beautifully and functions perfectly for its intended art.

DISCLAIMER: due to its proportions and weight however, this thing does have a lot of mass, and therefore will pack quite a punch in sparring, both on the thrust and on a percussive strike, when training, armor up a lot and control your blows, war swords will easily crack ribs or break fingers.

4 of 5 Marozzo Style 2-handed sword October 21, 2019
Reviewer: Ken Harding from St. Louis, MO United States
The St. Louis School of Arms practices exclusively in the Bolognese (Italian) style, and therefore our 2-handed sword method is that of Marozzo.  This practice sword is a wonderful tool for that style.  Its dimensions are slightly smaller than we estimate his example, but still very good and more appropriate than using something too large.  It is a bit stiff in the thrust, but otherwise no serious criticisms, especially at this price.  It has a  hex nut to secure the pommel, which can be easily tightened when loose.  I endorse this product, especially if you practice Marozzo's art.
