I had wanted to study the montante since the beginning of my HEMA studies and when I found out that a legal version for sparring in steel existed I jumped on it. It is incredibly well made, not as heavy as you'd think (but you do feel it), wields like a big long sword, and is just plain fun! It takes some getting used to because it is designed to be used differently but I honestly love this sword.
