Pretty messy. February 21, 2019
Reviewer: Peter Weisinger from Salmon Arm, BC Canada
So far so good. i was worried that the lack of a metal knopf would leave it unbalanced, but this is not the case at all - the length and heft of the handle gives it good balance, and a small person could even get two hands on this. It leaves lots of room when using with a glove to perform techniques that use the knopf. The blade did bend a bit the first time I thrusted agressively, but I could bend it back pretty easily. I think this is to be expected from this kind of steel though. The edges of the blade come pretty squared off, so after the first few times I used it, it got several nicks. This can easily be solved by rounding it off with a little sandpaper. Overall for the price, this is an awesome Messer.

It's a Long Knife December 28, 2018
Reviewer: Anonymous Person
Though i've never held an authentic medieval langes messer this product feels like something I could sharpen and keep in my kitchen. The wooden handle is a gritty enough texture to keep it welded to my hand yet the rectangular edges make it more fatiguing to use most grips that aren't ice pick grips. I could sand the corners more so being wooden has another plus. Like most of these VB products they're very robust in the hilt which is my favorite part since it's so important to be able to handle the weapon in kreig with as little effort as possible. The solid grip provides a lot of feed back on it's own without having to apply a death grip.  It's a good knife for what it's worth.

Got extensive use last night at practice. And everyone had something good to say. It handled perfectly and might become my go to for sword and buckler.
