Fitting/Breaking in: This is a one size fits all. Normally that’s bad, but in this instance you can expand it with a heat gun.

Mobility: It’s lighter than most gorgets and you probably won’t notice it around you’re neck if you have the fitting right.

Protection: This is the most important part. The plastic is thicker and a much denser material than other non-metal gorgets. I did stab Julian’s neck a few times on the front and sides when we first got it. It’s safe to say he’s breathing and unbruised (and we totally didn’t replace him with a dummy). It covers much more angles than most gorets that doesn’t have flaps. I don’t like flaps due to mobility issues but they are hard to get the tip under. This one seems to be doing a better job in not letting sword getting under with the jacket on.

This is a good, protective, light gorget. The only warning I would give folks is that this is not meant, out of the box, for folks with a very large neck. I have an 18.5" circumference neck and when I first slipped on the gorget it was pinching and quite uncomfortable. A rough measurement put the circumference of the gorget at about 14.5" inside. Fortunately this is easily corrected with a few minutes and a heat gun. I simply placed the gorget around something roughly the size of my neck and gently heated the arms with the heat gun and now it is extremely comfortable to wear. You probably need a heat gun to do this though, as I tried just heating the gorget up with boiling water but this did not get it hot enough to soften.

Fits nicely under my jacket and once I had it adjusted I barely even noticed I had it on.

This gorget is great! It is so comfortable that I have walked out of sparring wearing it after having taken the rest of my gear off. I’ve taken one direct thrust to the throat with it on and did not suffer any injury. Two thumbs up!

A bit loose around my neck, but works well. Comes off very easily. I've seen a rivet fall off from someone else's after some use, but no issues in mine so far. Good vertical coverage for whole neck
