Product Code: Viking-Wooden
We like to bring back some older designs every now and then and make some improvements along the way. Its been a few years and Mr. Bill Short of Hurstwic Viking Reenactment groups needed some replacements. With a deep double fuller along its length. The blade is parallel edged, and can be considered an Oakeshott Type X. The pommel has a classic curved lobed shape from about the 10th century. The hickory is select impact grade hickory. Machined to exact specifications and hand sanded and oiled to protect the wood for years of rigorous use.
Overall Length: 36" (91.4 cm)
Blade Length: 30" (76.2cm) from top of grip
Grip Length: 4.25" (10.8cm)
Guard Width: 4" (10.2cm)
Weight: 1.6 lbs (0.72kg)
Point of Balance: 10" (25.4cm) from top of grip

Great practice sword
This sword is exceptionally well made and beautifully constructed. It's perfect for some Viking sword practice and feels like it will last for years to come.

To pair with a shield
Perfection for training like a viking.Full contact (armor equiped) is possible but don't think that it can endure as a real sword (especially if you're brutal).I think you need to oil it or add something like wax to protect the wood from weither.

A must have for viking arts
This is a true work of art! I can see how the craftsman took its time to actually research how a viking sword feels and handles in the hand...Some may consider that the handle is too stubby or thick but given that the work is a representation in wood, and to maintain a realistic balance of the blade I would say is a fair trade-off...The only negative observation that I saw, was a little warped-age

Well worth it
I really wanted to get the synthetic viking sword, but since they were out of stock I purchased the wooden one. I couldn't be happier. It has a solid weight and handles very well for being wooden. I've already spent several hours at the pell with it with no indication on the sword itself. Will certainly consider getting another for a friend!
