Shortsword Trainer, Oakshott Type XIV

I lovw how this trainer handles. I've been getting deep into the i.33 manual and this sword feels so much more natural than the standard arming swords I've used up to this point. One one slight gripe is that the oversized pommel for the weight/balance will smack your forearm during certain manipulations, but overall a wonderful trainer.

The balancing pommel washers do rust, so it does need a little maintenance. The face of the washer that faces the plastic has a slight edge, unlike the outer face each has smoother edges. The plastic isn't exactly a smooth finish, the slots/fuller especially. It arrived with a slight bend but nothing major. Hilt wrap was nice and even. As far as I know, this is one of two synthetic wasters on the market specifically patterned after the Oakeshott type XIV, and is by far the less expensive model. The blade profile and weighted pommel scales result in a surprisingly nimble weapon that flows through cuts and wards with ease, and the paracord hilt wrap is quite comfortable.
