History of the Mokuju

"The bayonet was in general military use in Europe in the 1660s and remains part of the rifle weapons system in most modern armies. The systemization of combat with the bayonet reached a height in the period 1850 through 1914 in Europe and North America. The European bayonet was incorporated in the modernizing armies of Japan and China in the late 1800s and early 1900s, making this weapon a unique example in the development of Asian martial arts. Bayonet fencing as a form of competition was closely associated with classical fencing, and remained, at least in theory, a competitive sport into the 1930s in Europe. The techniques and training for bayonet combat in World War II and subsequently were generally simplified, eliminating most of the complex techniques that could not be quickly taught to soldiers. After World War II bayonet fencing emerged again in a sporting context in Japan as Jūkendō."

5 of 5 Mokoju Bayonet Review July 4, 2023
Reviewer: Kevin Robinson from VAN BUREN, AR United States
I am very happy with my Mokoju. The service was outstanding. I ordered the short one. I am so happy with it, I may order the long one. I wish they had the medium length one available.

5 of 5 Solid, well crafted gear January 31, 2023

I ordered two, so I could train with a partner. My five year old son has taken one as his "musket for George Washington's army."

I was amazed at how fast I got it. It came in great shape, and it looks like it's going to hold up to anything either of us can throw at it. Not my first purchase, and not my last.

5 of 5 Lockdown training July 6, 2020
Reviewer: Mark Suarez from Studio City, CA United States
Since my area is locked down, I haven't had an opportunity to fully test it yet. However, I have formed some opinions about it's handling and functionality. I bought a pair of the 43" version. What I intend to use it for is developing basic drills about home defense. For that purpose, the one shortfall I have found in handling it is that it is based on the musket which has a shorter buttstock/length of pull than a contemporary shotgun. If at all possible I would suggest to the manufacturer to create on with the dimensions of a contemporary shotgun. If not production, at least provide the option of custom models.

Reviewer: Taylor Bates from Beaufort, SC United States
Had a wonderful experience ordering with Purple Heart Armory. They went above and beyond to ship my order and get it there on time. Customer service was great in reaching out to let me know the status of the order. Couldn't have been happier
