The xiphos is well made, much longer than an actual sword of the type but the weight is good and it can take some rough use.

Using these for gladiator fights -- as stage props
We painted ours to be stage props, with great directions from the owner. Light and safe, and took the paint well.

Good trainer
This xiphos feels light in the hands and moves well and so far it has held up well. The wrap on it feels comfortable and hasn't come loose. The one problem with it is that it has almost no flex at all but it is otherwise a fine trainer for the price.

A great short sword
Very light and easily manipulated. It's a little blade heavy given the short handle and lack of any pommel. A good alternative to the gladius if your'e looking for something a little shorter in length.
