These
are NOT martial arts
quality items as with our Gladius,
but a very attractive and unique gift.
Roman
Rudis
(Lusoria arma):
A Rudis was a gift to
a gladiator for a special achievement. This signified his release
from a slave to a freeman. Our Rudis is an excellent and unique
give for someone who has completed service in the military, retired, or
completed an academic achievement.
Celtic
'Rudis':
We have made a
limited run of an anthropomorphic hilted Celtic sword. The design comes
from an excavated site called Brembate Sotto from the 5th century. (If
you have any more info, please let us know) Medieval
'Rudis':
This design is a standard 14th Century medieval shortsword with cruciform
hilt.
Engraving
Info: When
you place the order you will see 'Special Requests'. In this area please type in exactly what you want on
the blade. The default font is Buckingham that looks very
nice, but many more are possible. Roughly 50 characters will fit on
the sword, but more if the font is made a bit smaller. We can also do graphics such as
a corporate logo or coat of arms. We prefer a CorelDraw or EPS file, but
you can send a WMF, BMP, PSD, JPG, GIF, DWG, TIF, and PCX.
Graphics need to be 300dpi or better and larger than the actual
engraving for best results.
