I am a big fan PurpleHeart Armory's Synthetic Sabre V2!
A later version of the "Szabla" sabre design from the 1840's earned the moniker "Old Wrist-breaker." This historic facsimile made me truly understand what they meant!
This weapon is well balanced, and once you grow accustomed to the substantial weight of the weapon it is extremely fun to play with! The overall construction is very sturdy, the distal taper of the blade makes it flexible yet rigid. My only aside is that you may want to consider wearing significant hand protection when sparring, as getting smashed on the finger with one of these sabres is liable to hurt quite a bit!
My own historic fencing interests are mostly from the medieval period, but using this sabre is so fun that I simply had to purchase my own. I highly recommend this item!

Very impressed with the Purpleheart Synthetic Sabre. It is obvious quite a bit of research and care went into the design and manufacture of this product. For a waster the balance is incredible, I am lucky enough to have an actual 17th century Eastern European Szabla and the Purpleheart waster 'feels' almost the same! Well worth the slight wait (they make them as they are ordered). Great product.
