Description

This is an extended pommel that will increase the grip on the longsword by about 2".  Its typically used to make the longsword into a greatsword and the shortsword into a type of bastard sword.

Great Pommel May 18, 2017

Picked up one of these practice weapons at my local club, but it came with a smaller pommel. I purchased this one to make my sword look like the rest in the class. I am a beginner, but in my limited experience with oberhau strikes, this pommel gives me much more leverage and allows me to pull my overhead cuts much more easily with my back hand than the smaller pommel.

Extended Pommel May 3, 2016

One of the best features of the Knightshop Rawlings Synthetic Longsword is that the parts can be interchanged to produce all sorts of variations.  So far, I have a regular and extended pommel, which allows for my longsword to become a great sword, and my "short" sword (really a single-handed arming sword) to become a long sword.  This primarily synthetic pommel is light, but that is actually a good thing for younger students, who aren't quite strong enough to handle a full-weight blade.  I highly recommend this, bearing in mind that you intend to get this to lengthen your handle, rather than add counter-balance weight to your blade (for that use the metal pommels).
