This wooden training dagger, also called a rondel, with a rounded ball tip for extra safety, is show in the Meyer plates and mentioned in other manuals.  This is the same type weapon used by armoured fighters as shown in Fiore.  The long strong point can get between joints in armour.  It can also be used as a backup weapon to a Shortsword.   Finished with a coat of boiled linseed oil.

  • This is the original roundel dagger as 're-discovered' by us. I was looking at the manuals and got the idea of such a simple design.

In conclusion:  If you want a wooden dagger trainer, go for this one!
