Leather dussacks July 19, 2017

I don't study dussack, but I bought a couple of these as generic single-handed sword trainer tools for when it's too hot to wear jackets. They work great, feel nice in the hand, and are lots of fun to play with. The "edge" has some leather padding to it (breaks in over time), but the wooden core is just underneath, so these can still pack a punch if you're not careful.

Also great for practicing movements in tighter indoor spaces where a longer tool would do some damage.

Blossfechten at it's most fun! March 23, 2017

Can't recommend a pair of these weapons enough! The construction is sturdy, the handling fantastic, and yet they are small and light enough to take with you almost anywhere. I've been sparring with them nearly every day for the past week with my club mates, co-workers, and friends without any protective gear whatsoever, and had no issues at all (although I would recommend a mask if you're going for headshots). The layers of leather are plenty of padding to prevent serious injury (with reasonable control of course). The worst we suffered was slight bruising and it only takes a couple of hours of use to break said leather in, afterwards they loosen up to deaden a bit more impact than when they're right out of the box.

As always Purpleheart's service is the best in the industry. Buy a pair of these and you won't regret it for a second. They are incredibly safe for unarmored fencing and are a great warm-up as well as a serious training tool.

Love the Dussack!  Arrived just in time for my birthday bear-it!  Fought 45 matches, winning 40!  The sword caused many bruises in its new and stiff state! ;)

The construction and materials appear solid. Handling is light and lively, making them equally enjoyable for drills and free play.
