Good Option January 28, 2016

After one training session, wearing the fencing gloves and trying to put on the gauntlets is a bear (fingertips) and I discovered my finger tips had slipped the finger cups of the gauntlet periodically.  Bear handed use presented no such problems while maintaining supirior protection and dexterity over hockey/lacrosse gloves.

Fit and finish seem solid.  The protective shell is well made and provides nice protection.  The inner cushioning area did have a few parts (a thumb tab to protect from some stitching I think) that were attached with glue and seemed to quickly detach.  I used superglue to stick it back on.  There are a few other interior areas that look like the adhesive used is weakening so I my fencing bag will include superglue.

Stronger adhesive on some areas is needed and structure in the fingertip cups would make donning the gauntlets with the gloves an easier task.

2 months with my AF gloves October 9, 2015

The current style of these gloves has individual fingers on the underside of the gauntlets allowing better finger control, and are well padded, but due to their bulk leave the thumb sticking up a bit requiring you to move your hand an inch down from the cross of your weapon.  They are also fairly long so they cover most of the forearm as well.  The AF gauntlets are pretty stiff when new but break in quickly with regular use.

Overall a good glove for the price.

Pretty ok for the money. December 25, 2013

Good protection but not good with the movement.
It needs less Material around where you hold the sword.
But it works pretty good.
You just gotta practice with it.
But I got the medium so I would not need to get gloves with them.

Absolute Gauntlet (Pair) April 25, 2013

Was not what I was expecting. Gloves are really tight. Thumb is very restricted and sticks out in a way that would cause it to get hurt or broken. Also can't get a good grip at all, unable to even grip a knife handle.

Really restrictive on grasp and movement. Not sure how plastic will hold up to sparring. Can't recommend.
