Reviews

"The "heavy" canne would be ideal for most Bartitsu training purposes and would make a very reliable "carry" cane as well. Optimal use IMO would be in solo drills, full-contact bag work and controlled partner work; these are substantial canes indeed. Purpleheart's lighter rattan cannes, especially those with rubber ball handles, are eminently suitable for Bartitsu-style sparring and fencing, plus neo-Bartitsu self defense improv drills, always assuming proper "armour". Thanks again to Purpleheart!" - Tony Wolf

Hello, I am writing to say how pleased I am with the Vigny style walking stick I received from you. I put on a light coat of oil varnish, then polished it with a good wax & the Jatoba and hickory grain looks just great. I will be using this as a street cane, as I have weakness & instability in my leg, due to nerve damage from an injury. I use a walking stick for balance more so than actual weight bearing. I also study walking stick martial arts systems for self defense (Vigny/Bartitsu, Irish Bata & asian cane systems). This cane is nicely balanced, fast, & light. I love it. I also collect canes & fighting sticks so I'll definitely be back to make another purchase. I'd like to try the heavier canes too. It was difficult finding a ready-made Vigny style cane that was historically accurate, stylish & functional. You've done a perfect job here, thank you very much. - RB Sacramento, CA

Heavy cane December 31, 2017

I am learning Canne Vigny and have found this cane absolutely fantastic for solo (heavy bag) exercises as well as light sparring. As a taller man (6' 4") I found the height perfect, most canes tend to be a tad too short for practical use as an actual walking cane. I go hiking and running in woods frequently and take the cane with me. The cane is very well balanced, incredibly well finished and very attractive to look at. Highly recommended.

GREAT stick March 27, 2017

I love the look and balance of this cane. I have looked at them for a few years and finally pulled the trigger. It is a little long for a therapy cane, but I leave them long until I have fondled them for a while. I took it on a short cub scout hike up a few easy hills and I like the strolling length I may not cut it at all. And am wondering if I can get it longer not quite jo length but maybe?
