Description Sizing
Our synthetic Bearded Axe was much requested. This is V1 and 28" OAL for increased reach.

Its a simple solid blade with paracord grip. It was designed to be an inexpensive trainer with increadible strength. It requires no maintenance, though for best results it should be stored out of the sun.
V2 - more tapered handle.

Bearded Axe Trainer December 8, 2017

This is an excellent product, probably the best of its kind on the market.

Other training axes, are far too solid that when they hit, they definitely hurt more. This one, I find, doesn't hit too hard to do real damage.

It has a nice length; perfect for shield and axe fighting and is more than nimble enough to grab an enemy's shield.

The handle itself is also nice. Oval handles tend to be hard to keep a hold off and so this one is much better.

Mixed thoughts December 8, 2017

I am personally on the fence about this. The shorter version would handle better and more lively. The point of balance feels off for an axe. the construction is solid, and it should be relatively safe for sparring. 28" is perhaps too long, and seems to cater to the idea of reducing the disadvantage of an axe. That being it's reach.

I will admit that the hooking effect the beard has is excellent and easy to perform. And the trainer has little problem helping a student with edge alignment. I would recommend this for pell work to assist a student's training with the edge. Since it will visibly flop and not transfer force when the edge aligns poorly.

Really good axe one minor change June 7, 2017

Preformed well in combat my only complaint is the grip needs a swell at the bottom as the axe tends to slide out of the hand when wearing gloves
